- Literature It is thought that many Frosted Chandeliers were made by order of Queen Victoria to reflect the mood of the country after Prince Albert's death (December 14th 1861). After this date the frosted chandelier became ever more fashionable, although some earlier examples do exist, the frosted chandelier were mainly of a plainer form and somewhat less elaborate than their richly cut counterparts. Because of their classic looks many examples would not look out of place in today's modern interiors.
