AN EXTREMELY RARE ENGLISH REGENCY PERIOD CHANDELIER OF UNUSUAL DESIGN

An extremely rare, English regency period twelve-light cut glass and ormolu mounted chandelier of the finest quality. The shaft centred by a tapered slice and diamond cut stem piece, surmounted by a drop hung ormolu palm tree spray, this supporting another tapered slice and diamond cut stem piece. The shaft terminates with an ormolu leaf decorated pan. The main drop hung double ring, which is decorated with flower head anthemions, is supporting twelve six sided candle arms with drop hung drip pans and slice cut candle nozzles. The main ring also supporting a basket of half back chain pear shaped drops, terminating with a leaf chased ormolu ring and lapidary cut finial.
